To recognize our organization’s 10th anniversary year, a team of younger TBR leaders—Maggie Conarro, Abel Thompson, and Phillip Norman—began recording oral histories with some of their mentors. Combining these oral narratives with a series of portraits taken by local photographer and fellow leader Lily Brooks, this project aims to honor the people who allowed Together Baton Rouge to thrive through the previous decade. This November, the project will culminate with a public exhibit, Toward A Larger Freedom: Ten Years of Citizen Power Organizing with Together Baton Rouge.
On Tuesday, November 2nd from 4 pm - 7 pm at the Cary Saurage Community Arts Center, TBR institutions and leaders are invited to a sneak preview of the Toward A Larger Freedom exhibit. Please invite friends and family to join you for this special opportunity to honor the legacy of the many local leaders who have allowed Together Baton Rouge to thrive over the years. RSVP below to let us know if you will able to attend this celebration.
